Foreign policy driven by prophesy now, I hear?

Oh goody. Just what I was hoping for. I’m just slightly afraid that I’m not close enough to a major metropolitan area and will be spared the blast but die horribly from the radiation or live long enough to die of hunger in nuclear winter.

I can’t even really say it was fun while it lasted. I mean, it was okay, better than than it’s gonna be, but I wasn’t flying private with strippers and champagne. It wasn’t THAT good that I’m ready to give it up.

I say that anyone who has a billion dollars or more, has to give up everything but 500 million. They can live comfortably on 500 million, and since they’re so fucking smart, they can work their way back up to a billion. They go one dollar over, however, and they lose 500 million again. The alternative is, we take everything. All of it.

I think they’ll go for it if we make them an offer they can’t refuse. The alternative to the alternative, as they say, is way, way worse.

One of my all time favorite meals is Steak Frites with a runny fried egg on top. I don’t want it sliced, and I don’t want flank steak. I want a NY Strip with amazing, well-done, triple-cooked pommes frites. Not British chips, steak fries, or even shoestring potatoes. Toss a pat of butter on the steak, top it with a perfectly fried egg, and serve it to me immediately. These are all things a restaurant does better than I can at home. Runner up is a well-seasoned, naked burger with the same. #Food

I don’t know anyone who got more conservative as they got older. Usually the opposite, in fact. However, wealthy people do seem to get more conservative as they move to protect more and more of their wealth. It coincides with age, so it seems like a causation.

We aging and still working people are compassionate because we’re still working hard just to survive.

This is by far my default and how I think about directing and shooting. Like the still photographer that I am. I have to have a really compelling reason to move the camera. I’ve seen great shots from DPs who moved the camera for me, but I could have accomplished the same thing without movement. It’s a crutch mostly.

At my wife’s request, I wrote up our daughter’s Sourdough Bread recipe from her handwritten chicken scratch and then printed it out for the other bakers in the family; another daughter and a sister in law. Now they don’t have to keep finding the bad photo she sent last year, and that you can barely read, on their phones. They’re going to laminate them. It’s not really a recipe (if you’re not a baker), but a cheat sheet. Damn good bread.

If you tell me you’re using AI, all I think is, “You are cutting corners and not paying attention. You are going to get taken down so quickly by anyone offering anything resembling anything close to reality.”

I have heard all sorts of arguements for its value, but none that make me think you can beat me by using AI. Maybe it allows you to beat a dumber man. The whole greater fool argument.

Bring it on. Let’s do it. Let me show you how the human mind actually works.
